Son of Maurizio Fantini, one of the "100 Painters of Via Margutta", he was fascinated by the art world from childhood, and at the age of 14 he was already exhibiting his early works together with those of his father. He graduated at the "I Liceo Artistico" in Rome where he studied art for 4 years. His career as an artist led Roberto to travel round Europe for 13 years. He leaves Rome and lives in Paris first and then in London. In those years the artist refines his technique and deepens his knowledge of the art world, and his works were shown in various exhibitions and private galleries. After Europe, the artist explores Asia, where he travels numerous times. The visits to that part of the world, especially to Tibet, fascinated Roberto who identifies himself with the colours and atmospheres of those places so much to embark on a personal research of the first communication method of mankind, the cave paintings. Roberto Fantini’s works represent a modern view of the primitive paintings, a sort of ‘cave paintings of the XXI century”, which are not engraved on stone, but on juta canvas, decorated with marble powder, concrete and oil colors, and rendered more precious by materials like gold and silver. His works are dominated by elegant figures, with very long legs, who are the symbol of a mankind which is modern and ancient at the same time. Annotando impressioni Segni di luce Au pied de collines
